Tissue Marker Measurement, Manual Method

South Dakota rates for HCPCS 88369

This laboratory service is an additional measurement performed on a tissue sample already being analyzed under a microscope, with a pathologist visually counting and scoring the result rather than using computer-assisted image analysis, to quantify how much of a specific marker is present. It's used to help characterize a tumor in more detail and can guide decisions about treatment. It's billed in addition to the main tissue analysis rather than as a stand-alone test.
