Tissue-Matching (HLA) Genetic Blood Test

Kansas rates for HCPCS 81377

A genetic blood test that identifies specific tissue-matching markers on white blood cells, known as HLA type. It is most often used to check how well a potential donor's tissue matches a recipient's before an organ or bone marrow transplant, since a closer match lowers the risk of rejection. It may also be used in certain disease-risk or family-relationship testing.
