Surgery to treat advanced gum disease by lifting back the gum tissue to access and reshape the underlying bone, performed across a wider stretch of neighboring teeth (or the spaces where teeth used to be) in one section of the mouth. The bone is reshaped to reduce pockets and irregular contours caused by gum disease before the gum is stitched back into place. It covers a larger area in one section of the mouth than the smaller version of this surgery.
