Mapping of brain function using electrodes placed on the surface of the brain or into deeper brain tissue. Small currents are passed through the electrodes, or the signals they pick up are recorded, to find the areas controlling movement, speech and sensation and to identify where seizures begin. This covers the first hour a doctor or other licensed clinician spends in attendance; further hours are charged separately.
