Catheter Ablation of the Heart's Electrical Junction

Vermont rates for HCPCS 93650

Thin tubes are threaded through a vein into the heart, and energy delivered through one of them destroys the natural electrical connection between the upper and lower chambers. This deliberately stops fast, irregular signals from the upper chambers from reaching the pumping chambers, controlling a heart rate that medicines cannot slow. Because the heart's own signal can no longer get through, a pacemaker is needed to set the rate.
