Alcohol Ablation Of Thickened Heart Muscle

New Mexico rates for HCPCS 93583

Shrinks an overgrown section of the muscular wall between the heart's two lower chambers by injecting a small amount of alcohol into the tiny artery that feeds it, through a catheter threaded up from the groin. Causing that small area of muscle to shrink relieves the obstruction blocking blood as it leaves the heart. A temporary pacing wire is used during the procedure when it is needed.
