Catheter Closure of Hole Between Upper Heart Chambers

Vermont rates for HCPCS 93580

Closes an opening in the wall between the two upper chambers of the heart without open-heart surgery. A catheter is threaded from a vein in the groin up to the heart and a small closure device is opened across the hole, where it stays permanently and tissue grows over it. Imaging from inside the heart or the esophagus guides the placement.
