Placing The Probe For A Swallowed Heart Ultrasound

Maine rates for HCPCS 93313

Covers only the part of a heart ultrasound done from inside the food pipe in which the probe is passed down the throat and positioned behind the heart. The throat is numbed and sedation is given, and the operator guides the probe into place. Taking and interpreting the pictures is a separate service, often by a different clinician.
