Balloon Widening of an Extra Lung Artery

Maine rates for HCPCS 92998

Stretches open a narrowed artery carrying blood from the heart to the lungs, in a further vessel treated during the same session. A catheter with a balloon at its tip is threaded through a vein to the narrowed segment and inflated to widen it, easing the pressure the right side of the heart has to pump against. It is billed in addition to the main procedure.
