Plaque Removal and Stent in a Heart Artery

Maryland rates for HCPCS 92933

A catheter treatment for a narrowed heart artery in which the hardened deposit is shaved, drilled, or cut away first, and a stent is then expanded to hold the vessel open, with balloon widening as needed. Clearing the deposit first lets the stent open fully in a vessel that a balloon alone cannot expand. It covers the work done in one main heart artery or one of its branches.
