PCV20 Pneumococcal Vaccine Injection

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 90677

This is an injection of a vaccine that protects against 20 different strains of the bacteria that cause pneumococcal disease, including pneumonia, meningitis, and bloodstream infections. It is given as a shot into a muscle, usually the upper arm, and is recommended for many adults and some children to lower the risk of serious pneumococcal illness. A single dose is typically enough to update protection to the newer, broader-coverage version of the vaccine.
