Rabies Vaccine Injection (Intramuscular)

Vermont rates for HCPCS 90675

An injection of vaccine that trains the immune system to fight the rabies virus, given as a shot into a muscle. It is used both to prevent rabies before a possible exposure — for example in veterinarians or wildlife workers — and as part of the series given after a bite or scratch from an animal that might be infected. Several doses are usually needed over a period of days to weeks to build full protection.
