A dose of ready-made rabies antibodies, prepared from donated human plasma and treated to inactivate any viruses it might carry. Given after a bite or other possible rabies exposure, it provides protection straight away while the vaccine series prompts the body to build its own, and part of the dose is usually placed around the wound itself.
