Fluorescent Probe Chromosome Analysis

New Hampshire rates for HCPCS 88273

A laboratory test in which fluorescent-tagged probes are attached to specific regions of a patient's chromosomes so those regions light up under a microscope. A technologist examines a set number of cells to see whether a small piece of genetic material is missing, duplicated, or rearranged. It is used to confirm suspected genetic syndromes and to characterize findings in cancer samples.
