Direct Antibody Test On Red Blood Cells

This blood test checks whether antibodies are attached to the surface of a person's own red blood cells. It is used to help diagnose certain types of anemia caused by the immune system attacking red blood cells, to investigate a reaction after a blood transfusion, or to evaluate a newborn for a blood incompatibility with the mother.
