HLA Class II Antibody Identification Panel

Alaska rates for HCPCS 86833

Identifies which specific HLA class II markers — the DR, DQ and DP tissue types carried chiefly on immune cells — a person's antibodies are aimed at, by testing their serum against a panel carrying many different markers. The resulting list of targets tells a transplant team which donor tissue types the recipient's immune system would attack. It maps the antibodies themselves rather than testing the patient's blood directly against a particular donor sample.
