Hepatitis A IgM Antibody Test

This blood test looks for a specific type of antibody the immune system produces during a recent or active hepatitis A infection. A positive result points to a current or very recent infection, as opposed to immunity from a past infection or vaccination. It is often ordered when someone has symptoms suggestive of acute hepatitis.
