Epstein-Barr Virus Antibody Test

Kansas rates for HCPCS 86664

This blood test checks for one specific type of antibody the immune system produces in response to Epstein-Barr virus, the virus that causes mononucleosis. Different antibody types can appear at different stages of infection, so this result is often interpreted together with related antibody tests to determine whether an infection is new, recent, or from the past.
