Protein Separation Test On Urine Or Spinal Fluid

Vermont rates for HCPCS 86325

A laboratory test that separates the proteins in a body fluid such as urine or spinal fluid by passing an electric current through a gel, then uses antibodies to identify which proteins are there. The sample is concentrated first because these fluids contain far less protein than blood. It is used mainly to look for abnormal antibody proteins produced by bone marrow disorders.
