Platelet Antibody Blood Test

New Hampshire rates for HCPCS 86022

This blood test looks for antibodies directed against platelets, the blood cells responsible for clotting, which can cause the immune system to destroy them and lead to a low platelet count. It is used to investigate unexplained bruising, bleeding, or a low platelet count when an immune cause is suspected. Results help guide whether treatments aimed at the immune system are appropriate.
