Measures how well fibrinogen, the protein the body turns into the mesh that holds a blood clot together, actually works, by timing how quickly a sample clots once the reaction is triggered. It is used to look into unexplained bleeding, heavy blood loss, liver disease, and clotting that has run out of control.
