Antithrombin Blood Test

West Virginia rates for HCPCS 85301

A blood test that assesses antithrombin, a protein the body makes to keep clotting from running away with itself. A low result points to a greater tendency to form clots, which can be inherited or can develop from liver disease, a recent clot, or certain medicines. It is usually ordered after an unexplained clot or when clots run in the family.
