Blood Phosphorus (Phosphate) Test

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 84100

Measures the amount of phosphate, a mineral the body uses for bone strength, energy production and cell function, in a blood sample. Levels drift when the kidneys are not clearing phosphate properly, when the parathyroid glands are over- or under-active, or when vitamin D is out of balance, so it is usually read alongside calcium. Measuring phosphate in a urine sample is a separate test.
