Creatinine Clearance Test

New York rates for HCPCS 82575

This test estimates how well the kidneys filter waste from the blood by comparing the amount of creatinine, a waste product from muscle activity, in a timed urine collection against the level in the blood. It gives a more direct measure of kidney filtering ability than a blood creatinine level alone. It typically requires collecting urine over a set period, such as 24 hours, along with a blood sample from around the same time.
