Ceruloplasmin Blood Test

Hawaii rates for HCPCS 82390

This blood test measures ceruloplasmin, a copper-carrying protein made by the liver. Low levels can be a sign of Wilson disease, a rare inherited condition in which copper builds up abnormally in the liver and other organs, while levels can also change with liver disease, inflammation, or nutritional status. It is a simple blood draw usually ordered when this type of copper-handling problem is suspected.
