Heart Blood Flow Nuclear Scan, Rest and Stress

Maine rates for HCPCS 78454

A nuclear scan of the blood supply to the heart muscle, using a tracer injected into a vein and a camera that takes flat pictures from outside the chest. More than one set of images is taken, typically with the heart at rest and again after exercise or a medicine that makes it work harder, so the two can be compared. Areas receiving less blood under stress take up less tracer.
