A PET scan of the heart showing how well the heart muscle is using sugar for energy, combined with a CT scan taken on the same machine during the same visit. Muscle that still takes up the tracer is alive but underworking, while muscle taking up none has been permanently scarred. The CT part corrects the PET images and lines them up with the heart's anatomy.
