Three-Phase Bone Scan

Colorado rates for HCPCS 78315

This nuclear medicine scan uses a small amount of a radioactive tracer injected into a vein to evaluate a bone or joint in three stages: right after injection to see blood flow, a few minutes later to see blood pooling in the tissue, and again after a delay to see how the bone itself absorbs the tracer. It helps distinguish conditions like infection, a healing fracture, or inflammation in a bone from other causes of pain or swelling.
