Red Blood Cell Volume Measurement

South Dakota rates for HCPCS 78120

A nuclear medicine study that measures the total volume of red blood cells circulating in the body. A small amount of a radioactive marker is attached to blood cells and returned to the bloodstream, then measured in blood drawn once it has mixed through the circulation.
