Plasma Volume Measurement, Single Sample

Vermont rates for HCPCS 78110

A test that measures how much liquid plasma is circulating in the bloodstream. A small amount of a tagged marker is injected into a vein, given time to mix evenly, and then one blood sample is drawn to see how much the marker has been diluted. The result helps sort out whether a high or low blood count reflects the number of cells or simply the amount of fluid they are floating in.
