Contrast Ultrasound of a Lesion, First Area

Vermont rates for HCPCS 76978

An ultrasound scan of a specific lump or spot performed after tiny gas bubbles are injected into a vein as a contrast agent. The bubbles show how blood flows into and out of the area as it happens, which helps tell a harmless lesion from one needing treatment. This covers the first lesion examined; each further lesion is charged separately.
