Contrast Imaging Of One Adrenal Gland Vein

West Virginia rates for HCPCS 75840

This imaging study uses contrast dye and X-ray to examine the vein draining one adrenal gland, the small hormone-producing gland that sits atop each kidney. A catheter is guided into the specific vein to inject dye and capture detailed images, and it can also be used to take a blood sample directly from that vein to measure hormone levels. It focuses on a single adrenal gland rather than both sides at once.
