Small Bowel X-Ray Through a Tube

Indiana rates for HCPCS 74251

An X-ray study of the small intestine in which contrast liquid and air are delivered straight into the bowel through a thin tube passed through the nose or mouth. A series of images is taken as they travel along, and a medicine to relax the bowel may be given. Coating the wall with contrast and expanding it with air shows the lining in more detail than swallowing contrast alone.
