Vermont rates for HCPCS 72285
A study in which contrast is injected through a needle directly into a disc of the neck or upper back and images are taken. The pictures show the internal structure of the disc, including tears in its tough outer ring, and the team records whether the injection reproduces the patient's usual pain. It is used to work out which disc is the source of pain before treatment is planned.
