X-ray imaging of the spinal canal after contrast is injected through a needle into the fluid around the spinal cord. The contrast outlines the cord and nerve roots and shows where they are being pressed on by a disc, a bone spur, or a narrowed canal. This version covers more than one region of the spine, for example the neck and the mid-back, in the same study.
