Chest MRI With Contrast

Washington rates for HCPCS 71551

A magnetic resonance scan of the chest performed after contrast dye is given through a vein, using magnets and radio waves rather than X-rays. The dye highlights blood vessels, lymph nodes and abnormal tissue, helping tell a mass apart from surrounding normal structures. It is used to assess lumps, enlarged glands and other abnormalities in the chest.
