CT Angiography, Chest, With Contrast

Georgia rates for HCPCS 71275

A CT scanner takes detailed cross-sectional images of the chest after contrast dye is injected into a vein, specifically to highlight the blood vessels, most often the pulmonary arteries and aorta. It's frequently used to check for a blood clot in the lungs (pulmonary embolism), an aortic aneurysm, or a tear in the aorta's wall. This is a vessel-focused scan, distinct from a routine chest CT done to look at the lungs and other structures without a focus on blood flow.
