Removal Of Inner Ear Balance Organ

Pennsylvania rates for HCPCS 69910

Ear surgery that destroys and removes the balance organ of the inner ear, reached by opening the bone behind the ear. Shutting off the faulty balance signals from that ear stops attacks of severe spinning dizziness, and the other ear takes over balance duty over the following weeks. Hearing on that side is lost, so it is only done in an ear that no longer has useful hearing.
