Relieving Pressure on the Facial Nerve

Delaware rates for HCPCS 69720

Opens the narrow bony channel the facial nerve travels through inside the skull bone behind the ear, so that a swollen or squeezed nerve has room again. Bone over the outer part of the nerve's course is thinned away and the sheath around the nerve is exposed. It is done for facial weakness or paralysis caused by the nerve being compressed in that channel.
