Surgery on the Bone Deep Behind the Ear

Vermont rates for HCPCS 69530

Opens the honeycombed bone behind the ear and follows it inward toward the deepest part of the temporal bone, next to the inner ear, to clear out diseased and infected bone and drain any collection there. The diseased air cells are removed and the cavity is opened widely so it can drain freely. It is used for disease that has spread beyond the reach of simpler ear surgery.
