Rebuilding A Whole Eyelid With A Borrowed Flap

Maryland rates for HCPCS 67974

Reconstruction of an entire eyelid through its full thickness, using a flap of lining and supporting tissue borrowed from the opposite eyelid of the same eye. It is done after cancer removal or severe injury has left too little tissue for a simple repair. The flap keeps its own blood supply, so the eye is usually closed over for a period while it takes.
