Chalazion Removal Under General Anesthesia

West Virginia rates for HCPCS 67808

Removes a chalazion — a firm, usually painless lump in the eyelid caused by a blocked oil gland — with the patient fully asleep under general anesthesia or in a hospital setting. One lump or several can be dealt with in the same sitting. This version is used when the patient cannot cooperate with numbing alone, such as a young child, or when the situation needs hospital facilities.
