Eye Muscle Surgery, One Horizontal Muscle

Vermont rates for HCPCS 67311

Corrects a crossed or wandering eye by operating on one of the horizontal muscles that turn the eye inward and outward. The surgeon detaches the muscle and either moves it back on the eyeball to weaken its pull or shortens it to strengthen it, so the two eyes line up together. The work is done through the white of the eye, with no cut in the skin.
