Lens Removal Through the Back of the Eye

Vermont rates for HCPCS 66852

Removes the eye's lens material by working through the white of the eye behind the colored iris, rather than from the front. Fine instruments break up and draw out the lens, and the jelly filling the back of the eye may be removed at the same time. This route is used when lens material has fallen back into the eye, the lens is dislocated, or it cannot safely be reached from the front.
