Glaucoma Drainage Opening With Iris Removal

Utah rates for HCPCS 66160

Creates a small drainage opening through the white wall of the eye using a punch or fine scissors, letting fluid trapped inside the eye escape so the pressure falls. A small piece of the iris, the colored part of the eye, is removed at the same time to keep the new opening from clogging. It is used for glaucoma that has not been controlled well enough by drops or laser.
