Cutting Scar Bands in the Front of the Eye

Vermont rates for HCPCS 65870

Fine scar-tissue bands that have stuck the colored part of the eye to the clear dome in front of it are divided with an instrument through a small opening in the eye. Such bands form after inflammation, injury, or earlier surgery, and they pull the pupil out of shape and can affect vision and eye pressure. Air or fluid may be put in to hold the space open while the bands are released.
