Replaces the full thickness of the clear front window of the eye with a matching disc of donor cornea, stitched in with very fine sutures. It is done when the cornea has become scarred, clouded, swollen, or badly misshapen enough to blur sight. This version is for eyes that still have their own natural lens in place.
