Nerve Repair Using Donated Nerve Tissue

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 64912

Repairs a divided or damaged nerve by bridging the gap with processed nerve tissue from a donor, which acts as a scaffold for the patient's own fibers to grow along and reach the far side. Using donated tissue avoids taking a nerve from the patient and creating a numb patch where it came from. The graft is stitched to the nerve ends under magnification.
