Nerve Graft Reconstruction Of A Damaged Nerve

Washington, DC rates for HCPCS 64893

This procedure repairs a damaged nerve by bridging a gap in it with a piece of nerve tissue taken from another site in the patient's body, rather than trying to stretch and rejoin the original nerve ends directly. The graft provides a pathway that the body's own nerve fibers can grow through as healing progresses. It is used after an injury has left too large a gap for the nerve to be reconnected on its own.
