Replacing The Lead Of A Cranial Nerve Stimulator

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 64569

Replaces or revises the electrode lead that wraps around a cranial nerve — most often the vagus nerve in the neck — as part of an implanted nerve stimulation system. The site is reopened, the old lead is freed from the nerve, a new one is placed and it is connected to the generator already sitting under the skin. It is done when the lead has broken, moved or stopped delivering therapy.
